Gen-X Press Release 7-14-17
Posted on Friday July 14, 2017
Brunswick County has received the results of testing of raw and treated water for the chemical 1,4-Dioxane from both the Northwest Water Treatment Plant and the 211 Water Treatment Plant.

The Northwest Water Treatment Plant shows levels of 1,4-Dioxane in raw water that are reduced from levels found in 2015, and the treated water shows less than the lowest detectable level (less than 0.028 parts per billion). The 211 Water Treatment Plant shows levels of 1,4-Dioxane at 1.3 parts per billion in the treated water.

The link at the bottom of this page will direct you to a release with additional information about these levels and what they mean. The release includes test results and a map showing 1,4-Dioxane levels detected by DEQ at different points in the state as part of that agency’s research.
