New Town Hall Groundbreaking Ceremony Conducted this Morning!

Town Administrator, Daisy L. Ivey introduced the Board of Commissioners, special guests, and Town staff and thanked everyone for their efforts to bring the project to fruition.

Kim Boyette - First Bank
Michael Norton - McGill Associates
Mayor Debbie S. Smith spoke, thanked those in attendance, noted the project has been “a long time coming” (since 2006). Mayor Smith noted the need to have an updated facility off the island to better serve the public on a daily basis, as well as, providing a safe and centralized command center during emergency events such as hurricanes. Mayor Smith briefly summarized the timeline for construction.
