CORONOA VIRUS PREVENTION

The Town of Ocean Isle Beach is dedicated to protecting the health and well-being of our property owners, visitors, businesses, and staff in the face of the spread of the coronavirus COVID-19. The Town is strongly encouraging “social distancing” as suggested by CDC. We will continue to monitor guidance from public health agencies and provide updated information as it is received.

Individuals who have questions after hours or over the weekend are encouraged to call the North Carolina Public Health Call Line, which has public health professionals available 24 hours a day every day to answer questions: 1-866-462-3821
Effective Wednesday, March 18, 2020 and continuing until further notice, government operations for the Town of Ocean Isle Beach will be modified in the following manner:
Town hall is open for normal operations, however we are recommending all Town Hall business be conducted via phone, email, fax, or other virtual means to the greatest extent possible.

Utility and Tax Payments
The Town is strongly encouraging “social distancing” so please make your utility payment, or tax payment online via the Town Website at www.oibgov.com. If you wish to pay by check, please mail it, or put it in the drop box located at 3 W. Third Street, Ocean Isle Beach, NC 28469.
New water/sewer service applications for renters or owners should be placed in the drop box, emailed or faxed. If you are a renter, you can pay your deposit by putting your check in the drop box located at
3 W. Third Street, Ocean Isle Beach, NC 28469 with your application. If you need to pay with a credit card you can do so by calling 910-579-2166. You can find the application online at https://www.oibgov.com/files/documents/Water-sewerApplicationforService1313115445012816AM.pdf

We will continue to monitor guidance from public health agencies and provide updates on this policy moving forward.
We are strongly discouraging the use of cash at this time -- please see online payment options at www.oibgov.com for tax and utility payments. You may also mail your payments to 3 W. Third Street, Ocean Isle Beach, NC 28469 or use the outdoor drop box. The drop box is checked frequently throughout the day.
The meetings of all appointed Town advisory boards and committees will be modified and/or canceled to reduce vulnerability of people and property of the Town of Ocean Isle Beach. Town staff will be in contact with these groups to outline meeting procedures going forward and will make that information public. Meetings of groups not affiliated with government operations are not permitted in Town buildings until further notice. The next scheduled meeting for Board of Commissioners is April 7, 2020 at 9am for a Budget Workshop – the public will be made aware if that meeting is canceled or if the meeting format changes.
Building inspections will continue as normal, however, meetings in person will be restricted to those initiated or requested by Town staff only. The Town requests that attendance at on-site inspections be limited to the inspector only, unless otherwise arranged in advance.

Once your permit application has been approved, you will be contacted by Town staff notifying you of the approval, the amount owed and the payment process; credit card payments will be made available.
Police and Fire Department
The Police Department and Fire Stations will be closed to the public and all non-emergency business shall be conducted via phone, email, or other virtual means to the greatest extent possible.

Park and Recreation Department
Effective Tuesday, March 17, the Town suspended Town-sponsored activities, including all activities and programs at Town Hall and the Community Center; the Community Center Restroom facilities will be closed until further notice. Ferry Landing Park will remain open at this time, though everyone is encouraged to practice “social distancing” as recommended by the CDC. All Pot Lucks are cancelled until further notice. All Recreation Department/Community Center questions may be directed to Recreation Director Hayley Burgess at [email protected].
Public Services (Water Maintenance, Sewer, Public Works and Stormwater)
Our staff will still be out working, making repairs, etc. If you need to report a leak or a problem in town, or want to check on progress of a repair or project, please email or call Town Hall at (910) 579-2166 or [email protected]. Normal hours of operation for this department are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
